[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The new spring season 2020 been released for the Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford, headlined by a trip to Central perk to meet some ‘Friends!’, a thrilling ‘Dragons & Mythical Beasts’ interactive adventure, plus a world premiere ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’.
The Stafford Gatehouse team are busy preparing the Theatre for what is set to be an incredible season. Kicking off Spring and Summer are six friends from New York City! Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Joey and their perhaps more famous sofa are coming to Stafford in March for Friends!
Friends – The Musical Parody. The show sold out incredibly fast but they have managed to secure a return visit in October!
The theatre will also be hosting the world premiere of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, when it opens at The Gatehouse on Friday 10th April for two performances prior to commencing its national tour.
The show has been described as being like an episode of Loose Women but with a lot more singing and dancing, taking a no-holds-barred comedy romp through everything life throws at a modern day woman! Join us, Linda Nolan, Jess Wright, Niki Evans and Leanne Jones, for a hit of raucous comedy!
The theatre will aslo welcome the brand new show ‘Dragons & Mythical Beasts’ a fantastical interactive show for all the family! You can get up close and personal with some of the most magnificent monsters and terrifying beasts ever to walk the earth!
Don’t forget that the theatre Summer School Auditions take place on the 29th March, last year’s production of The Addams Family was a huge success and it’s a wonderful opportunity for young people to get involved with a professional production, not to mention it’s three weeks of the Summer holidays taken care of!
If your child is interested in theatre, the Gatehouse has four Youth Theatre shows being staged in the MET Studio and are a wonderful introduction to theatre. This year our groups are performing Terry Pratchett’s ‘The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents’, Philip Pullman’s ‘Grimm Tales’, the coming of age classic ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘The Flint Street Nativity’ by Tim Firth.
2020 sees Stafford Festival Shakespeare turn thirty and have an incredible production lined up! taking place at Stafford castle this summer is the Bard’s most famous tale of star crossed lovers. Romeo and Juliet. What could be more perfect on a warm starry night?

INFORMATION
Stafford Gatehouse Theatre is a busy and thriving performance venue in the heart of Stafford. The theatre programmes a range of touring shows to cater to a wide variety of ages and interests. The theatre also produce several of their own shows each year, including the popular annual Stafford Shakespeare performance, in the grounds of Stafford Castle.
There are two performance spaces: the MET Studio, which can cater for to up to 150 patrons, and the main house, with a seating capacity of 545.
Stafford Gatehouse Theatre is in the heart of Stafford, just seconds from the main shopping centre and central tourist attractions. It is less than 10 minutes drive from Junctions 13 and 14 of the M6 and can be found by following the theatre mask symbols on routes into the town centre. There are ample parking facilities a short walk away from the theatre and cycle racks are available outside the building.
