Staffordshire Director’s Bewitching Show Nominated For Olivier Award

Staffordshire’s Theatrical Expertise is being recognised as the very best in the UK, as Jill Murphy’s ‘The Worst Witch Live ‘ directed by New Vic Theatre’s Theresa Heskins is nominated for an Olivier Award 2020 for BEST FAMILY SHOW.

Once again Staffordshire’s Theatrical Expertise is being recognised as the very best in the UK, as Jill Murphy’s ‘ The Worst Witch Live ‘ adapted by Emma Reeves & directed by New Vic Theatre’s Theresa Heskins is nominated for an Olivier Award 2020 – BEST FAMILY SHOW.

The New Vic has previously scooped a top award for children’s and family theatre when it won Best Show for Children and Young People for ‘The Snow Queen (Also directed by Theresa Heskins) at the national UK Theatre Awards, which celebrate excellence in theatre across the country.

Let’s cross our broomsticks, and hope the magic can work again, this time for this highly acclaimed show, when the winner is announced at the Olivier Theatre Awards taking place later this month.

About the Worst Witch

Based on the books by Jill Murphy, the story follows Mildred Hubble in her final year at Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches.

The Worst Witch Live show, features all of Jill Murphy’s beloved characters, with original songs, music, magic and a dose of ‘Worst Witch’ Mildred’s unique brand of utter pandemonium.

The show is A Made In Northampton co-production with Kenny Wax Family Entertainment, Novel Theatre and Nica Burns.
