My Big Fat Cowpat Wedding

So take a seat, have a slice of cake and celebrate with Clare and Arjun as they tie the knot.  What could possibly go wrong?

 

This fast moving new comedy puts you in the centre of the celebration of a mixed marriage between a girl from the country and a boy from the city. The night is full of misunderstanding and mishaps with plenty of neat twists and a disco and Bhangra dance for everyone to join in at the end. It’s going to be such a fun night – everyone loves a wedding, don’t they?

‘My Big Fat Cowpat Wedding’ is a co-production between Kali Theatre, Arts Alive and Black Country Touring. It is directed by Janet Steel and Steve Johnstone.

Based on real people’s experience of mixed marriages or rural weddings attended by city dwellers out of their comfort zone, this is a fun, light hearted exploration of relationships across the divides of rural/urban, race and gender.

It’s a site specific show with Pattingham Village hall laid out for a wedding reception where you the audience are the wedding guests. The show takes place in amongst the audience.

Dress: Smart casual. Hats welcome. Wellington boots optional.

The show at Pattingham Village Hall has been programmed as part of the highly successful Live and Local initiative, which brings live theatre and entertainment to communities in  rural Staffordshire.

The scheme works by partnering with local volunteer promoters in small communities, using village halls, schools, community centres and even village green as performance spaces and makeshift theatres for a wide range of shows.
