[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Grown women, aching feet and heaving bosoms are the order of the day when the emotinally charged comedy Cheshire Cats by Gail Young strides into Lichfield.

Cheshire Cats follows the antics of a group of friends as they aim to speedwalk their way to fund raising success in the London Charity Moonwalk while also enjoying a girly weekend away in the capital. Trainers and wildly decorated bras are in, high heels and designer labels out – but a last minute substitute to the team doesn’t meet the physical criteria!

This London Moonwalk adventure is a cross between a girls’ night out and a real mission to support a cause so close to many hearts, with plenty of laughs and a few tears along the way.

Written in 2011 by the very popular playwright Gail Young, and inspired by her own personal experience, ‘Cheshire Cats’ is a truly comic homage to walkers, marshalls, and organisers of charity walks everywhere.

Follow the Cheshire Cats team as they power walk their way into an emotional journey to fundraising success in the London Moonwalk!

Hilary, Siobhan, Yvonne, Vicky & Maggie are in training to raise money for breast cancer and are attempting to get fit to cross the capital in record time. They’ve got the decorated bras and posh new trainers, but a last minute substitute to the team puts a different spin on their long planned girls night out!

ABOUT LICHFIELD PLAYERS

The Lichfield Players have been staging productions since the 1940s, and invites keen amateur actors and stage crew to join their company.  Their auditions are open to all regardless of age or experience.
