Documentary released about FRONTLINEdance latest project

A wonderful short documentary has been released about ‘Forget Me Knot’, a new piece of work from Staffordshire FRONTLINEdance.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A wonderful short documentary has been released which delves into the background of ‘Forget Me Knot’, a new piece of work from Staffordshire dance company FRONTLINEdance, created by Rachael Lines.

The Arts Council funded work features two dancers and a musician, and is predominently intended to be performed site specifically in care wards.

Two contemporary dancers Clare Reynolds and Mary along with composer and musician Greg Hall, have worked closely with choreographer / director Rachael Lines to create a performance experience which has patients, visitors and staff at the heart of what they created. More than 100 people responded to the question “What do you hope you never forget?” which led to the creation of two new dance works and pieces of music.

In the winter of 2015 the work was toured to Queens Hospital Burton and Royal Stoke University Hospital. You can view the documentary film here on Vimeo.

They thought about the space, ward set up and the working environment, working closely with the elderly care staff.

INTEGRATED DANCE

Frontline is an integrated dance company, based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, offering a program of performance, education and outreach work for people of all abilities and ages.

A variety of supporters have helped to realise the work, including funding and supported by: Staffordshire County Council – Arts Connected, Appetite, Friends of FRONTLINEdance, Mitchell Arts Centre, Brewhouse, Burton Hospital Trusts, UHNM and donations via local giving campaigns.

HAPPENCHANCE

They are currently developing an earlier work ‘Happenchance’ which will be touring throughout June 2016 to Royal Stoke Hospital, County Hospital Stafford, Queens Hospital Burton and Haywood Hospital Stoke-on-Trent. A video trailer of Happenchance 2014 is available below.
