The four day festival of brand new plays and theatrical experiences by local theatre makers and some of the country’s top writers include

Love, Lies and Taxidermy by Alan Harris

This is a boy meets girl kind of story. But it’s difficult to fall in love when your parents need saving from themselves, their weird hobbies and the threat of a prison sentence. “A funny, heartwarming and tender tale of underdogs fighting the odds.” ★★★★ Fest

Growth by Luke Norris

Tobes is young, free and having a ball. He’s successfully ignored his lump for two years but it’s starting to get in the way – cramping his style and, worse, affecting his sex life. So now there are pants to be dropped, and decisions to be made… it’s a real ball ache. “Very funny, throwing laugh-out-loud one-liners… but vitally important.”★★★★ WhatsOnStage

I Got Superpowers for My Birthday by Katie Douglas

Ethan, William and Fiona are about as different as three almost-teens can be. The only thing they have in common is that tomorrow is their birthday. Oh, and they’ve just discovered they have superpowers. A brand new play for ages 7+ from award winning writer Katie Douglas

Now Its Not The Time by Scratch n Sniff Theatre

Scratch & Sniff are Emily Andrews & Toby White two beans living and working in Stoke-on-Trent. They don’t really care what you think of them, but they want you to like them, well they don’t, they want you to like what they make. They don’t really know what they make quite yet, it’s some form of theatre, a different kind of theatre, but they’re quite sure you might like it.

MORE ABOUT PAINES PLOUGH ROUNDABOUT THEATRE

Paines Plough is the dubbed the national theatre for new plays, commissioning the best playwrights, producing new work and touring those plays far and wide.

Following four years of development they launched Roundabout in 2014. A futuristic, portable pop up theatre, designed to bring new plays into communities across the UK.

Roundabout is the world’s first pop-up, plug-and-play theatre. It flat packs into a lorry and pops up all over the country in theatres, school halls, warehouses, sports centres, car parks and fields.

Roundabout needs no special skills to assemble. Anyone can help put it up, the only tool you need is an Allen key. No piece of the auditorium takes more than two people to carry. And it’s powered from 13amp plug sockets, so the whole theatre runs off the same power supply as your kettle. It uses state-of-the-art LED lighting technology to minimise energy consumption.

Whats most impressive is the productions that take place in this extraordinary space.  This is truly the most outstanding plays by some of the nation’s finest writers, supported by fantastic guest companies and one-off performances and events.

You can find out much more about Paines Plough and Roundabout at their website
