Do you have a good Staffordshire Theatre story to tell?

Staffordshire Theatre wants to cover as much of the best theatre in Staffordshire as possible, but we are NOT a listing site – there are many other websites that already do that.

Here at staffordshiretheatre.com we much prefer to tell stories about great theatre going on in Staffordshire.  So if you have a great story about something theatre related in Staffordshire, or news about a show that you are staging, or maybe even just a good story about yourself and what you do, then we’d love to share it with our many thousands of visitors and followers across our channels, including this website, and on our related social media.

We like big theatre, but we LOVE small theatre more!

We are especially interested in covering smaller theatre shows, and the work of local theatre makers and local theatre companies. professional and amateur.  So if you are an established or emerging theatre company, writer, performer or involved in theatre in anyway in Staffordshire – then we are much more likely to cover a story about you, than one about a big mega musical.

Not that we don’t like big mega musicals – we certainly do – but we just want to give coverage to the the kinds of theatre in Staffordshire that often gets missed out by the main stream media, but which is so critical to the development of theatre and performing arts in our region.

The Do’s and Dont’s of submitting an article to us

What we really want are interesting stories about your show or project.  It may even just be a story about yourself.  We’d love to hear your story if you are an actor that’s just graduated say, or a writer working on a new play, or perhaps you’re a theatre designer or theatre maker and you want to raise your profile – then we’d love to help if we can.

What we don’t want to receive are just random, poor quality PDF posters, with little or no info.  They are pretty useless to us, and we then have to do all the work to find out about your show.  Remember we are NOT a listing website.

Sending us press releases

We welcome your detailed press releases, which can be emailed to stagedoor@staffordshiretheatre.com Please include background, quotes, something unique, good quality pictures, and do include all the info that will entice our readers to want to know more, and perhaps even book a ticket or two!.  Even better if you can also supply links to video or audio content.

The more original the article is that you send us, then the more likely we are to use it.  There is no point in us just regurgitating the same info that is already on a dozen other websites.

Submitting photos to us

To help sell your story we need good quality pictures too.  We cannot use pictures that have logos or text embedded on them.  We do not like to use show logos, posters or graphics either.

Requesting an interview

We are keen to interview people involved in any aspect of theatre in Staffordshire.  So Actors and Performers, Theatre Companies, Directors, Writers and Theatre Makers, etc

We can come out to interview you at a location relevant to and in context to your story, or we can even do interviews over SKYPE if we can’t get out to you in person.

Requesting a review

We have recently launched a volunteer Staffordshire Theatre Reviewers scheme .

So if you would like us to review a production that you are producing then please fill in the ‘Review Request Form’ using the button below, or send us a review invitation to stagedoor@staffordshiretheatre.com, with as much information about the show as possible.
