[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Young Staffordshire performers are being invited to attend open audtions for the opportunity to star in Stafford Gatehouse Theatre’s Summer School production of the family favourite musical ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’, this summer with auditions set to take place in early May 2017
The upbeat show about Joseph and his coat of many colours is packed full of great toe-tapping parody songs, plenty of comedy, and dozens of characters, not least the eleven jealous brothers who sell poor Joseph into slavery, which starts his journey to ultimateley becoming the second in command to the almighty Pharaoh.
Joseph Auditions
The only way to gain a place in the show is to attend the open auditions. Places are available for youngsters aged between 7 and 18 who live in or attend a school in Staffordshire.
Experience isn’t necessary; just lots of enthusiasm and a love for performing. Summer School is a fantastic opportunity to develop acting, dancing and singing skills, whilst building confidence and making friends.
The annual Stafford Gatehouse Summer Youth Theatre production is always very popular, and ecent productions have included: The Wizard of Oz, Doctor Dolittle, Whistle Down the Wind and Peter Pan.
Being such a well known production, it is predicted that Joseph will be an extremely popular show for keen young local performers, with up to 150 children battling it out for one of the highly sought after spaces.
In addition to rehearsing the show, the young people incolved will take part in workshops covering singing, dance and actting.
HOW TO APPLY TO AUDITION
Auditions take place on Sunday 7th May at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre. The first session is at 9.30am for 7-12 year olds, followed by a session at 2pm for 13 – 18 year olds.

The Summer Theatre School will then start on Monday 31st July, with the production opening on Wednesday 16th August and running until Saturday 19th August. All candidates must be available for the entirety of Summer School.
