NEW Canal-side theatre well underway in Stone

The building of a new 140-seat Crown Wharf studio theatre in Staffordshire, to be run by Stone Revellers Theatre company is now well underway.

The building is now well underway for a new 140-seat studio theatre in Staffordshire.

The theatre, to be called Crown Wharf, is part of a canal-side development in the town of Stone, which will also include a coffee shop, pub and tourist information centre.

It will be run by local theatre group the Stone Revellers, with plans for professional performances to take place in the purpose-built venue, which also will be used as a community cinema.

“Alongside a community cinema, we are confident many different community groups, local schools and budding creatives will benefit from having a quality facility on the doorstep.”

Leo goes on to explain the importance of the development to the Town, “We are thrilled to be working alongside Joules Brewery and the Town Council to bring this new facility to Stone. Whilst it will be fundamental for Stone Revellers to keep producing great local theatre for another forty years, we also envisage this high-quality theatre space to be a facility for the whole Town. Alongside a community cinema, we are confident many different community groups, local schools and budding new creatives will benefit from having a quality facility on the doorstep.

They have a busy schedule performing four shows each and every year, and mix it up by always doing a musical in the spring, a comedy in the summer, a drama in the autumn and annual Christmas pantomime.
